In 2025, the value of GCC commercial and residential contract awards (including mixed-use developments) exceeded $72.5bn—the second-highest annual total since 2016, despite a slight decline from the record numbers in 2024. The year opened strongly, with more than $17.9bn awarded in Q1 (around 20% higher than Q1 2024). Although activity softened in Q2 and Q3, momentum returned in Q4, which closed with more than $12.7bn in awards 6% higher than Q4 2024, underscoring continued strength in the construction market.

In 2025, the UAE led the GCC in commercial and residential contract awards, with more than $50bn worth of projects accounting for 70% of the total, while Saudi Arabia represented 26%. Despite an overall dip across the GCC, the UAE recorded 8% growth compared to 2024.
