Power project contracts worth $292.7bn have been awarded in the MENA region between 2015 and February 2025. With an annual average of $27.8bn between 2015 and 2024, about $174bn worth of power projects are in execution. Generation accounted for 68% of awarded contracts, while T&D accounted for the remaining 32%.

T&D contract awards have been fluctuating between 2015 and the first quarter of 2025. The need to modernise and interconnect grids as energy sources diversify and trade increase will be a key trend going forward.

MENA clients and offtakers awarded over $198bn worth of power generation contracts between 2015 and the first quarter of 2025. Thermal plants accounted for roughly 54% and solar is fast catching up with 34% of this figure.
