Saudi Aramco - Shedgum and Uthmaniya Gas Compression Program: Uthmaniya Gas Compression Plant: Package 10
Saudi Aramco is planning to undertake the construction of the gas compression plant work project at Shedgum and Uthmaniya gas compression program in Saudi Arabia.
This project will install advanced compression technology to raise the pressure of raw Khuff gas, enabling enhanced delivery into the processing and transportation systems. It will upgrade existing facilities at Shedgum and Uthmaniya, which currently receive about 870 million and 1.2 billion cubic feet per day of Khuff raw gas, respectively.
The aim is to significantly increase the compression and processing capacity of both plants while adding new pipelines to improve gas transport. Key components include a full EPC scope for the Uthmaniyah compression package, new compressor trains, mechanical and electrical works, and high-integrity pipelines. The intended outcome is improved operational efficiency, greater gas throughput, and strengthened energy supply infrastructure.
The scope of the Saudi Arabian project includes the supply of five electric motor-driven centrifugal compressor trains, together with associated balance-of-plant equipment and auxiliary systems. The compression facilities are intended to support production optimization and enhanced recovery, contributing to the extension of the fieldâs operational life. Baker Hughes will supply nine electric motor-driven compressor trains for a mature offshore field in the Middle East.
The US$2240 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of gas compression plant
2. Additions and Modifications to Shedgum and Uthmaniya gas plants to support the modified and new facilities
3. Modifications to compression stations
4. Modifications to gas booster stations
5. Installation of pumps, air coolers and heat exchangers
6. Installation of compression systems and associated infrastructure
7. Installation of safety & security systems
8. Construction of associated facilities
