Diriyah Company is planning to undertake the construction of an opera house is a part of opera block in the Boulevard Southwest district on an area of 129,559 sqm as part of the Diriyah Gate Development Program Phase 2 located on the western side of the capital Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The US$1360 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of an opera house (with GFA 45,796 m2 and land area 26,061 m2)

2. Construction of a theater (2,000-seater opera theatre, 450-seater adaptable theatre, a 450-seater multipurpose theatre, and a 450-seater rooftop amphitheater)

3. Construction of Langham Hotel (GFA 22,000 sqm, land area 11,909 sqm)

4. Construction of mixed-use residential (GFA 37,274 sqm, land area 13,885 sqm)

5. Construction of residential (GFA 71,533 sqm, land area 37,274sqm)

6. Construction of rehearsal rooms

7. Construction of an exhibition hall

8. Construction of loading dock

9. Construction of staff entrance

10. Construction of dressing rooms

11. Construction of a restaurant and a staff canteen

12. Construction of public toilets

13. Construction of parking facilities

14. Installation of elevators

15. Installation of safety systems

The JV of El Seif Engineering Contracting, China State Construction Engineering Corporation and Midmac Contracting Company has been appointed as the main contractor on the project.

11 March 2025

The bid evaluation has reached the final stages and the main contract is expected to be awarded by March 2025. Alec and the JV of Webuild and Samsung C&T, and the JV of Elseif and Midmac (lowest bidder) has submitted the bids on the project. (Source: MEED)

Alec amongst others have submitted the commercial bids on the project.

Alec amongst others have submitted the technical bids and the commercial bid submission has been extended to November 18, 2024.

The main contract tender has been issued and the technical bid submission is on October 9, 2024 and the commercial bid submission is on October 29, 2024. Alec amongst others are invited to bid.

The contractors have submitted the EOI documents on the project. Nesma and Alec amongst others were invited.

The client has issued a solicitation of interest (SOI) and the last date for submission is May 7, 2024. Trojan General Contracting & Nesma & Partners amongst others are invited.

The project is still in the design stage and the request for proposal is expected to be issued in Q2 2024. AtkinsRealis is the concept and detailed master plan consultant.
