QatarEnergy - North Field West Development: Downstream
QatarEnergy is planning to undertake the development of the North Field West project in Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC), Qatar.
The project will have an LNG production capacity of 16 million t/y, which is expected to be achieved through two 8 million t/y LNG processing trains.
The US$8,000 million includes the following:
1. Construction of two mega LNG processing trains
2. Construction of utilities & offsite facilities
3. Construction of helium recovery unit
4. Construction of non-technical buildings
a. Construction of warehouses
b. Construction of workshops
5. Construction of the administration building
6. Construction of other associated facilities

The Front End Engineering Design works are progressing and Technip Energies has been working as the FEED consultant on the project.

The pre-FEED works are still ongoing on the project and the construction works are expected to be commenced by 2027.

The pre-feed works are ongoing and the construction works are expected to be commenced by 2027 on the project.

The final investment decision has been made for the development of the project. Currently, the pre-feed works are ongoing on the project and FEED contractor is yet to be awarded for the project.
