Al-Khafji Joint Operations (KJO), jointly run by Kuwait Gulf Oil Co. (KGOC) and Saudi Arabia’s Aramco Gulf Operations Co. (AGOC), is planning to undertake the development of offshore Production Deck Modules Package 2A at the Dorra Gas Field Development project in the Kuwait Neutral Zone in Saudi Arabia.

The project is a part of the Dorra Field Development Program, Offshore and Onshore Facilities.

The offshore development projects for the Dorra field are operated by Al-Khafji Joint Operations (KJO).

This Package 2A of the Dorra Field Development Program involves installing seven Production Deck Modules (PDMs) offshore, equipped with wellhead topsides, flowlines and umbilicals, plus corrosion-resistant alloy-lined pipelines connecting to the gas compression plant.

Located in the shared Neutral Zone, the overall multi-billion-dollar development aims to produce 1 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day to be split equally between both nations. Package 2A specifically focuses on the critical offshore extraction infrastructure, serving as the bridge that connects individual gas wells to the regional gathering and transport pipeline.

The US$1500 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of main structures or facilities, including seven offshore Production Deck Modules (PDMs) at the wellheads

2. Installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems

3. Laying of subsea flowlines and umbilicals from wellheads to compression plant

4. Construction of corrosion-resistant alloy-lined pipelines under marine exposure

5. Construction of topside wellhead equipment and support structures

6. Installation of subsea tie-ins and connection to the compression plant onshore

7. Installation of control, instrumentation, and safety systems

8. Construction of associated facilities
