Saudi Electricity Company(SEC) is undertaking the construction and expansion of the Riyadh PP12 Power Plant located about 150 kilometres northwest of the capital Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

SPCC will buy the electricity output for the project.

The US$2,077 million project involves the following:

1. Expansion of a power plant

2. Installation of turbines

3. Installation of heat recovery steam generator (HRSG)

4. Installation of transformers

5. Installation of switchgear

6. Construction of fuel treating and conditioning unit

7. Construction of associated facilities

The civil works have commenced on the project.

The JV of SEPCO 3 and Doosan Enerbility Company has signed an EPC Contract with Saudi Electricity Company for the development of the project. (Source: MEED)

Doosan Enerbility has signed a contract valued at US$611 million with Saudi Electricity Company to construct the project and it is expected to be completed in 2028. (Source: MEED)

The JV of SEPCO 3, Saudi Electricity Company, and Doosan Enerbility Company has been been appointed as the main contractor and Letter of Intent (LOI) has been signed on the project.
