ADNOC Gas is planning to undertake the Laying of the Bab Gas Cap Pipelines in Abu Dhabi, the UAE.

Adnoc will hold the majority 60% stake in the Bab Gas Cap development and production concession, with TotalEnergies, BP, CNPC, Jodco Onshore, China ZhenHua Oil and Korea GS E&P collectively holding the remaining 40% interest

This initiative forms part of the Bab Gas Cap (BGC) development to link new processing plants with existing infrastructure. It includes the routing, fabrication and installation of multiple product pipelines—particularly for liquid sulphur transfer to the Habshan Granulation Plant—and sales gas and feed gas connections. Driven by modern pipeline engineering and ADNOC’s onshore pipeline standards, the project aims to secure safe, efficient transport of hydrocarbons, reduce flaring, and enable full utilisation of gas output. The ultimate intention is to support ADNOC Gas’ strategy to increase its gas processing capacity by about 20%—approximately 1.8 billion standard cubic feet per day—and thereby advance the UAE’s gas self-sufficiency and energy security.

The US$1000 million project includes the following:

1. Installation of sales gas pipeline 48' inch & length 18km from New BGC Plant to 2 x 52” @ KP30 HMT Pipelines

2. Installation of NGL pipeline 20' inch & length 54km from New BGC Plant to 30” MERAM (BVS-1) NGL Pipeline – Habshan Ruwais corridor

3. Installation of condensate pipeline 18' inch & length 54km from New BGC Plant to 24” existing condensate pipeline Habshan Ruwais corridor

4. Installation of nitrogen pipeline 10' inch & length 31km from the existing 48” MIRFA Habshan N2 Pipeline (Habshan) to the New BGC plant

5. Installation of a water pipeline 10-inch & length 27km from the existing TAQA DN1600 Water Pipeline to the New BGC plant

6. Installation of safety & security systems

7. Installation of hot tapping technology

8. Installation of a new receiver station for construction near the Maqta corridor

9. Installation of pig launcher for the new N2 pipeline
