Description and Scope

Petrokemya, an affiliate of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) is planning to undertake the development of Ethylene Oxide Catalyst Production Unit in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

Ethylene oxide catalysts are the core technology of the ethylene oxide industry chain, directly determining production efficiency, product quality and energy consumption of the process unit.

The US$150 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of an ethylene oxide plant with the capacity of 4,000-tonne-a-year (t/y)

2. Construction of storage tanks

3. Construction of catalyst production unit

4. Construction of encompassing multiple units for catalyst carrier washing and drying

5. Installation of supporting utilities

6. Construction of associated facilities
