QatarEnergy - NGL-5: Main Package
Qatar Energy is undertaking the development of NGL-5 main package in Mesaieed, Qatar.
The capacity of the project to process up to 350 million cubic feet a day of associated gas.
The US$2500 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of sulfur recovery unit
2. Construction of breakwater facility
3. Construction of desulphurization unit
4. Construction of dehydration and liquefaction units
5. Construction of mercury removal unit
6. Construction of export terminal facilities
7. Installation of light hydrocarbon recovery unit and treatment columns
8. Installation of a tail gas treatment unit
9. Laying of pipelines
10. NGL fractionation & NGL recovery
11. Feed gas compression & gas sweetening
12. Slug handling & acid gas enrichment
13. Propane refrigeration & sulphur recovery
14. Boil-off gas recovery & Utilities
15. Effluent water treatment plant
16. Carbon dioxide treatment and sequestration/export
17. Product rundown pipelines
18. Construction of associated facilities

Contractors have extended the validity of their technical bids for the project. Given that these bids are valid until the end of August and that the evaluation of commercial bids is currently in progress, it is anticipated that client will award the main EPC contract by the end of August.
