KJO - Dorra Field Development Program: Offshore and Onshore Facilities: Package 2B
Al-Khafji Joint Operations (KJO), jointly run by Kuwait Gulf Oil Co. (KGOC) and Saudi Arabiaâs Aramco Gulf Operations Co. (AGOC), is planning to undertake the development of a central gathering platform complex and processing facilities Package 2B at the Dorra Gas Field Development project in the Kuwait Neutral Zone in Saudi Arabia.
This Dorra Field Development Program, specifically Package 2B, covers the addition of several vital offshore installations, including central gathering, compression and auxiliary platforms, an accommodation platform, and connecting trunklines and cables to shore.
The offshore development projects for the Dorra field are operated by Al-Khafji Joint Operations (KJO).
The project uses advanced offshore platform systems, subsea pipelines, and electrical and communication cable networks. It aims to boost gas output to reduce reliance on imports, provide feedstock for power generation and petrochemicals, and support Saudi-Kuwaiti energy security. The field is estimated to contain large non-associated gas reserves and is expected to produce around 800 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) of gas during this phase
The project is a part of the Dorra Field Development Program, Offshore and Onshore Facilities.
The US$3700 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of the central gathering platform complex and processing facilities
2. Construction of auxiliary utility platform topsides and structural jackets
3. Construction of accommodation platform quarters and main marine bridge
4. Construction of dedicated flare platform structures and tripod towers
5. Construction of structural bridge platforms linking the offshore complex
6. Installation of multi-shareholder gas and condensate export pipeline networks
7. Installation of produced water pipelines from CGP/AI-Zour to Al-Khafji
8. Installation of recovered MEG pipelines from Al-Khafji to CGP
9. Installation of control and power systems linking Al-Khafji onshore/offshore
10. Installation of centralized offshore control rooms at the accommodation platform
