Saudi Aramco - COUR: Jafurah: Expansion of Cogeneration ISPP 330MW (Phase 2)
Saudi Aramco is undertaking the construction of an expansion of a cogeneration independent steam and power plant (ISPP) at Jafurah, Saudi Arabia.
The Phase II expansion will add around 330MW of power generation capacity to support electricity and process steam demand for the Jafurah development. The project is expected to include new generation equipment, balance-of-plant systems, and tie-ins to the existing power and steam networks. The expanded ISPP will improve the reliability of utilities supply for oil and gas operations in the Jafurah area. Once operational, it will produce 465 tonnes of steam an hour for the nearby gas field.
The US$556 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of power plant
2. Installation of heat recovery steam generator (HRSG)
3. Installation of gas turbines
4. Installation of steam turbines
5. Installation of switchgear
6. Construction of substations
7. Construction of associated facilities
