ADNOC - Umm Shaif Gas Cap and Surface Pressure Boosting: Phase 1
ADNOC Offshore is planning to develop Phase 1 of the Umm Shaif Gas Cap and Surface Pressure Boosting Development in the northwest of Abu Dhabi, the UAE.
This project involves the development of the Phase 1 Gas Cap and Surface Pressure Boosting (SPB) systems aimed at increasing both gas and condensate output from the Umm Shaif field. It will include new gas compression and treatment facilities, gas inlet infrastructure, condensate separation and refining components, and associated processing units on Das Island.
The aim is to raise gas production by approximately 600 million standard cubic feet per day and boost condensate production by about 50,000 barrels per day, while delivering increased feed gas volumesâroughly 520 million cf/d to ADNOCâs sales gas grid. Key outcomes include achieving higher reservoir pressure support, maintaining deliverability of Khuff reservoir wells as pressures decline, and improving recovery rates to sustain production plateau and extend field life.
Advanced process systems like liquidâliquid coalescers, dehydrators, acid gas removal, and stability units will be utilised to ensure gas meets specifications and condensates are treated for transport or further processing.
The project is divided the EPC scope of work on the first phase of the project into three packages. The broad scope of work on the two offshore packages and one onshore package are as follows:
Offshore package 1 â fabrication of a 30,000-tonne gas compression system
Offshore package 2 â fabrication of 30,000-tonne gas compression system
Onshore package â EPC of gas inlet and processing systems on Das Island.
The US$6,200 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of two offshore gas compression fabrication facilities
2. Construction of a gas inlet and processing system
3. Construction of a gas processing and separation platform
4. Construction of a surface pressure boosting (SPB) platform
5. Installation of safety & security systems
6. Installation of compressors, turbines, vessels and bulk materials
7. Construction of associated facilities
