Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (ADNOC) is planning to undertake the construction of the Hail sour gas field along with the Bab gas development at Abu Dhabi, the UAE.

The Hail and Ghasha project is planned to install 1 bn (cf/d) of additional gas capacity from sour gas reservoirs at the offshore fields. The Hail Project aims at producing 400-600 million cf/d in sour gas.

This project is one of the most important oil and gas projects in the MENA region

The US$24250 million project includes the following:

The last update received on the project over the phone/market sources was that GASCO is likely to tender the Hail sour gas project only after the conclusion of the Bab sour gas project deal. Currently the tenders for FEED on the Bab sour gas have not yet been issued. It is anticipated that the FEED tenders will be issued by mid-2014. However, since then we have not been able to obtain a definite update as to the status of the project. Until we obtain information to the contrary, we will not alter the status of the project, but we have changed the timeframe to make it more accurate. In the meantime, we will continue to try and obtain updates for this project.

This project was created based on a press release/ market news in year 2012. The last update received on the project over the phone/market sources was that GASCO is likely to tender the Hail sour gas project only after the conclusion of the Bab sour gas project deal. Currently the tenders for FEED on the Bab sour gas have not yet been issued. It is anticipated that the FEED tenders will be issued by mid-2014.
